Season 17 Dancing With the Stars cast really delivered in the first episode. We’ve got an entire recap on how all of the cast performed. Snooki, Jack Osbourne and Leah Remini really impressed the judges. Bill Nye, despite all of his hype, did not.
The three highest scores belonged to Amber Riley and Derek Hough, Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff, and Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy.
Amber and Derek danced the Cha-Cha and received great praise from the judges. They finished with a score of 27, after having receiving a 9 score from every judge.
Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff danced to a contemporary number and pleased the panel as well. The High School Musical star earned an impressive 24.
Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy also received a score of 24. The couple also danced in a contemporary style, delighting the audience and judges alike.
The three lowest scores belonged to Bill Engvall and Emma Slater, Keyshawn Johnson and Sharna Burgess, and Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein. Of the group, Bill Nye scored the lowest.
Who would have thought, a science teacher would score low in a televised dancing competition? Um...everybody. And that’s exactly what happened on this week’s episode of DWTS.
Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein danced the Cha Cha but failed to impress the judges. Nye was, admittedly, entering the competition as an underdog. His score of 14 furthered that assertion.
Keyshawn Johnson and Sharna Burgess also chose the Cha Cha and only did a bit better, scoring 17.
Bill Engvall and Emma Slater chose the Foxtrot and did marginally better. Their team was awarded a score of 18.
Though they didn’t score in either the top or the bottom, Snooki and Leah offered memorable performances. Snooki got a 23 for her Cha-Cha’ing and Leah brought home a score of 21 with her fox trotting talents.
