It's been established that AMC is having some trouble letting go of its more popular series. With only two episodes left of Breaking Bad addicts are bound to be itching for a fix. Co-executive producer, Peter Gould has announced via Twitter that the final two episodes of Breaking Bad will be 75 minutes long.
Wednesday night, Peter Gould tweeted:
"I checked & it's official. Last 2 #BreakingBad eps are 75 minutes each w/commercials. Set your DVRs accordingly. Better still, watch live!"
That's great news for addicts of the highly acclaimed meth drama. Still, fans will no doubt be jonesing for another hit. Luckily, last week AMC announced that it has green lit a Breaking Bad spin-off prequel, Better Call Saul. Bob Odenkirk will reprise his role as shady Lawyer Saul Goodman. The fact that the show will be a prequel still means that Goodman may face his end in the remaining 150 minutes of the parent series.
Show creator Vince Gilligan will return for the new series. Gilligan first teased the idea of the spin off on Deadline over a year ago:
"I would love to see a Saul Goodman spinoff. I can’t say that it is genuinely in the works at this moment, but certainly Bob Odenkirk and I have talked about it a little bit. I can’t promise that it will ever happen, but I think I personally, as fan number one of this world, meaning the first one to partake of these plot moments and whatnot, I personally would love to tune in and see a good Saul Goodman show. I like the idea of a lawyer show in which the main lawyer will do anything it takes to stay out of a court of law. He’ll settle on the courthouse steps, whatever it takes to stay out of the courtroom. That would be fun--I would like that."
Last weeks episode "Ozymandias," was watched by over 6.4 million viewers. The second to the last episode of Breaking Bad airs Sunday September 22 followed by the series final on September 29.
