Rumors are flying that Niall Horan has broken up with his girlfriend Ellie Goulding. Now tabloids are claiming that their split is a result of either One Direction or his friend, Ed Sheeran.
Niall spent the weekend celebrating his birthday in Australia. The now 20-year-old teen bopper partied it up in the land down under.
There was one person noticeably absent from the festivities, however. Ellie Goulding was nowhere to be found.
Niall didn’t let that get him down, as photos surfaced of the star leaving Boutique, a popular nightclub in Melbourne, Australia. The singer was in town visiting his family, who still resides in the country.
The fact that Niall and Ellie spent ten minutes apart was enough evidence for The Sun to declare them split. Neither celebrity’s camp has confirmed the break up, but the uncredible publication quoted a “source” as saying:
"It's over between Niall and Ellie. They've split up. There was obviously a real attraction - but Niall's a young lad and wants to live it up."
Niall’s partying isn’t the only reason some have offered for the separation. Some outlets claim that the romance may break up NIall’s band, One Direction...though, that seems highly unlikely.
Other sites are claiming that it’s because Ellie was linked to Ed Sheeran in the all too recent past. The two were spotted holding hands together, however, Ellie refuted those claims on Twitter, tweeting:
“I love that holding hands with my friends means we're an item. In that case I am in many relationships. Lover not a hater. #whatthef**k.”
Sheeran, however, painted a different picture when speaking to a radio station, telling the listening audience:
“I mean, normal people don't hold hands if they're just friends. It was going on. And now it’s not.”
