Spoilers: Tonight, ABC’s hit crime drama/comedy Castle is back. The series starring Nathan Fillion (Dr Horrible 2, Firefly) and Stana Katic is all new with the premiere of it’s eighth season. This year former executive story editor and producer Alexi Hawley returns to the series as one of the new showrunners. Recently, the new boss opened up about what changes are store for Castle and Beckett this season.
The official plot synopsis for part 1 of tonight’s Season 8 premiere episode of Castle, titled “XY,” reads:
“In Part 1 of the two-part eighth-season opener, Castle searches for a missing Beckett following a call from a mysterious stranger.”
Recently, new showrunner Alexi Hawley spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about tonight’s all new episode, saying:
“It's a very dynamic episode. We wanted to engage on every level that Castle engages in. The great thing about the show is, tonally, we get to be really funny. We get to be serious, emotional, scary and all those things. So we put all of that into the pot on this. We also need to redefine a few things at the beginning of the season with Castle and Beckett and the P.I. office with [Beckett] being captain and Alexis (Molly Quinn) working there [and] introducing new characters. We want to do it in a really dynamic way.”
Be sure to tune into the all new episode of Castle, tonight at 10:00 p.m. eastern on ABC.
