Tom Cruise Visits Scientology Center Without Kirstie Alley, John Travolta and Leah Remini

Tom Cruise took time out of his busy schedule to visit one of Florida’s Scientology centers. Fellow Scientologists Kirstie Alley and John Travolta were not in attendance. Some media outlets claim that the visit has something to do with the high-profile exit of celebrity Leah Remini.

The Church of Scientology has not been having a great summer. Much of their headache can be traced back to Leah Remini. The former King of Queens star made a lot of noise when she left the secretive religion.

Remini was a member of the church since she was a small child, as her mother joined the religion when Leah was very young.

Not only did Leah voice her opposition to the leadership of the religion, she also got the law involved. Leah filed a missing persons report with the LAPD.

The report was filed on behalf of her friend Shelly Miscavige, who Remini claims she has not seen in over six years. This action was especially infuriating because Shelly is married to the leader of the COS, David Miscavige.

The LAPD determined that the report was unfounded, claiming that they made face-to-face contact with Shelly. Officers said that the woman appeared to be in good health and was not a prisoner.

Despite the findings, the COS still finds themselves in a PR nightmare. Perhaps that’s why they have enlisted the help of the world’s most famous Scientologist, Tom Cruise.

Radar Online wrote yesterday that:

“Cruise recently paid a high-profile trip to Scientology, Florida, according to a new report. And though his visit was allegedly planned to convince current members that everything is going better-than-ever for the controversial church, one critic says it’s too little, too late. Tom made his appearance in the front row of a recent Scientology graduation ceremony, according to an email from inside the church obtained by Scientology watchdog Tony Ortega.”
