Charlie Hunnam ‘Pacific Rim 2’ Not Dead: Guillermo del Toro Says Delayed Not Canceled

Fans of Charlie Hunnam and Guillermo del Toro were let down recently when it was revealed that Pacific Rim 2 was not going on as scheduled. However, is still hope for the film yet. Guillermo del Toro recently confirmed that the movie is not canceled and is simply delayed.

In the wake of the news that Pacific Rim 2 was being pushed back, Guillermo del Toro is attempting to ease the minds of fans hoping to get back in the Jaeger. Del Toro recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the status of the film, saying:

“We are still turning in a screenplay and a budget in three weeks. As far as I’m concerned, it’s not gone. We’re still on it.”

Del Toro says the film’s delay is only temporary, adding:

“I may do another movie in the middle.”

Del Toro went to add that if it was up to him he would do so much more:

“I can tell you this, if I was a billionaire, I would definitely do Hellboy 3, Pacific Rim 2, and At the Mountains of Madness. And I would quickly become a millionaire.”
