NeNe Leakes Says No Transgender Amiyah Scott ‘RHOA’ Casting, Talks Season 8 Exit

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding transgender woman Amiyah Scott, who has reportedly been seen filming for Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8. It was rumored that Amiyah would be joining the show’s cast, replacing NeNe Leakes. Now Leakes is opening up about Amiyah Scott’s status on the show, as well as why she decided to leave the show.

Recently, NeNe Leakes appeared on Access Hollywood where she was asked the possibility of,Transgender woman, Amiyah Scott joining the cast of Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8, to which she said (via Inquisitr):

“All lies. All lies. All lies. Amiyah Scott will not be a Housewife I can bet you that. Just a way to get everybody to tune in. Guarantee you that. None of these people you’ve been hearing about will be Housewives.”

NeNe Leakes also went on to explain just why she left the series, adding:

“Well, you know, I was the only original there, and it was the end of my contract and Bravo knew that and I knew that. I was offered season eight, to come back, and it was my decision. I just wanted to do other things. Also, I felt like being on the show all of this time, I felt like I was being attacked a lot. I felt like it was very negative at times. And it was just time for me to sort of step back and just try other things…I just need a break, and this was my time to take a break and go do other things. I may go back sometime.”
