Miley Cyrus, who made twerking available to the masses, may be the “Wrecking Ball” responsible for the end of her relationship. In recent days, we saw the pop-princess unfriend and unfollow (on Twitter) her ex-fiance, Liam Hemsworth. Now, their reps have confirmed that rumors of the couple’s split is accurate.
People Magazine was the first to hear from the celebrity duo’s representatives (and didn’t hesitate publishing) that the couple had called it quits. But is there anyone who was really surprised by the announcement?
Liam and Miley were having trouble for quite some time. In recent months, it was virtually impossible to see a photo of them together.
There was, of course, two notable exceptions. Over the summer, Cyrus went to visit Liam on set in Canada. And back in August, Miley attended the premiere of Liam’s new movie.
Liam was noticeably absent from the Video Music Awards, where Miley was nominated for four Moonmen (MTV’s version of the Grammys). She might have lost in every category, but she did win the night, in terms of most talked about performances.
Her sexually charged performance of “We Can’t Stop” left viewers shocked and terrified--forever associating giant foam fingers with...well...bad things.
Following her head shaking and headline stealing rendition, many media outlets were reporting that the couple would soon be parting ways. When Cyrus unfollowed Hemsworth on Twitter, it was clear that things were over.
A few days later, Liam unfollowed Miley. Hours later, a spokesperson for the celebrities revealed that they had broken up.
