Princess Kate Middleton was expected to attend a friend’s wedding over the weekend, but she decided to skip the ceremony and hang out with her royal baby, Prince George. Her husband, Prince William, and her sister, Pippa Middleton, were in attendance.
The busy new mom said she was going to grace the wedding of James Meade and Lady Laura Marsham with her royal presence. But things didn’t go as planned and Kate found herself at home with Prince George Alexander Louis.
This seems only natural, considering that her first child is only 7-weeks-old. US Weekly was among the first to report her absence, as a source close to the princess revealed:
"Kate's still breast feeding so to be out for the whole day and the night before, was a bit too much at the moment. She would have loved to go but it just wasn't possible."
Of course, Kate’s been busier than normal, as Prince George’s christening is quickly approaching. While the family has not released a specific date, many believe that the ceremony will occur in late-September or October.
Before the event can take place, however, there is much that needs to be done. This includes choosing six godparents to watch over the little prince.
No official announcements have been made though one can safely bet that the Prince’s brother, Harry of Wales, will be on the shortlist. Equally probable is that Kate will select her sister, Pippa Middleton.
