It turns out that all the rumors about Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger's marriage being in shambles over the past year or so were actually true as the couple announced that they were getting a divorce last week. According to the latest gossip news updates, the "Complicated" singer was convinced that her husband might be cheating all throughout their tumultuous relationship. It's even said that the Nickelback frontman was seen dating other women before the news of the split went public.
Despite never having admitted that anything was wrong with their marriage before now, Avril Lavigne took to Instagram last week to let the world know that she would be getting a divorce form Chad Kroeger (via Fox News):
"It is with a heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today.
"Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments."
One source in the latest September 21, issue of Star magazine reveals that despite their claims to be friends forever and ever, Avril and Chad haven't been close for some time now:
"They had major trust issues...Chad is a well-known ladies man, and Avril couldn't be with him 24/7 to keep an eye on him. There was no confidence in the relationship, even a year into the marriage.
"It was totally doomed to fail, and no one would be a bit surprised of cheating was involved."
An eyewitness to Chad's August 21, date night at E11EVEN Miami told Fox News that Avril was smart to worry about Kroeger's seeing other women:
"He came in at around 1:45 a.m. with a security guard and a mystery woman.
"He was a bit standoffish."
