When Michael Douglas announced that he and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones were separating, Hollywood was shocked. The ‘Wall Street’ actor said that the pair may not be getting a divorced and new rumors claim that the couple could be back together.
While some reports indicated that the couple hasn’t spoken in quite some time, OK! Magazine spoke with an alleged “insider” who claims that to be false. The source revealed that the two are still in communication with each other:
“They’re in contact every day. Neither of them wants to divorce, and Michael has every intention of trying again with Catherine. He just needs to level his head first, and she needs some time alone, too. They treasure their conversations and always make sure they’re both in positive head spaces when they do. There’s a huge number of their oldest friends who don’t believe their separation is permanent. Those two really do love each other; they just need a break.”
Whether the two will actually divorce remains to be seen. If they do part ways, some significant cash could exchange hands.
If it’s determined that Douglas cheated on Zeta-Jones, he could have to fork over a $5 million dollar fine. That’s, of course, on top of the $1.5M she gets per year she has stayed with Douglas.
That figure comes out to an astonishing $24.5 million dollars, if it’s found that Douglas cheated. And that’s exactly what the tabloids are claiming.
According to Star Magazine, it Douglas has been spotted multiple times out with another woman. These allegations stem from photos taken of Michael Douglas and a mystery brunette. A source revealed to the magazine that:
“At first, everyone thought the woman was Catherine, especially with all the attention Michael was lavishing on her. But it wasn’t. Michael and Catherine are living totally separate lives and are powering full steam ahead with the divorce.”
