Finally, there is some good news to report in regards to Amanda Bynes’ mental illness. It appears that the former child-star’s health is improving at UCLA in 2013. According to a source, doctor’s are optimistic about her condition.
She hasn’t beat the disease yet, but Bynes is beginning to improve. A source close to the incident revealed to OK! Magazine that Amanda has started exercising and taking advantage of the court-ordered treatment:
“Amanda is actually doing really well. She’s exercising and getting fantastic counseling. It’s a long road yet--one doctor said she’s about 1 mile through a swim across the Atlantic--but Amanda’s ambition has never wavered. She’s determined to claw back her credibility and her career.”
Amanda, who has been ordered to stay in rehab until September 30, could be facing up to a year in the mental health facility. More will be known at the court date, where the judge is expected to extend Byne’s treatment as well as the temporary conservatorship he granted Amanda’s mom.
Currently, Bynes’ mother has full control of Amanda’s treatment and any assets the celebrity possesses. That ruling is set to expire on September 30, however, her mom and doctors have already objected that motion.
If history is any indication, the judge will rule on the side of the doctors. After all, Bynes was initially placed on a 72-hour hold back in July. But after doctor testimony, he extended the sentencing for two more months.
The ruling followed an altercation where Amanda set a fire in her neighbor's driveway. What made matters even more troubling, was that Amanda didn’t appear to know the woman who lived there.
During the process, Bynes drenched herself and her dog in gasoline. A pantsless Amanda Bynes was spotted cleaning her dog in a convenience store bathroom.
We wish her a speedy recovery.
