Holly expletive Batman! Over the weekend, Justin Bieber shocked the world and nearly shut down the Internet when he made hints that might be playing Robin. The pop-star angered millions of geeks, world wide, when he posted a picture of a supposed Batman vs Superman script, teasing his casting as the Boywonder in the 2015 film.
Justin Bieber has been stirring up quite a bit of controversy lately. The singer's antics have managed to anger the masses, from parents upset at the "role model's" drug use and tardiness, restaurant workers, an American President, whom the pop-star pissed off, and Jews everywhere after Biebs tried to convert Ann Frank into a Beliber. So, who did Bieber manage to wrong now?
On Friday, Beiber posted a controversial pic to his Instagram. No, not one of him posing nude for Na Na or trying to force a kiss on Ariana Grande. This picture was even worse. The pic showed the pop-star holding what he claimed to be a script for the upcoming Man of Steel Sequel, Batman vs Superman. The script watermarked with his name across the cover bore the proper logo and writing credits. Beiber also further teased his involvement by adding #Robin??
The collective shooting in ALL CAPS that followed was heard around the world. Batfans, who were already banging their heads against the walls over the news of Ben Affleck's casting as Batman, all cried out for justice. Bieber fan girls, however, all seemed to geek out over the possibility of seeing the "Boyfriend" singer in tights. A Twitter war then broke between "true believers" and "true Beliebers."
So is it true, could Justin Bieber be the man to break the Bat? Not likely. Some wonder if Bieber's other online activities that day suggest that this was all just a cruel joke. Earlier in the day, Biebs tweeted: "Off to do something funny or...die :)"
Then again, what if it's not? Would it be the worst thing to ever happen to the multiverse? After all, Beiber is young and fit enough to play the sidekick. Besides, maybe he could be cast as the second Robin, Jason Todd, opposite the Joker's crowbar.
