BATFFLECK TV Show: Ben Affleck to Direct New Fox Series 'The Middle Man'

Ben Affleck has a new job and we're not talking about his role in the upcoming Batman vs Superman film. Batffleck will be working on a new TV crime drama. The actor, director, writer and producer will be lending his talents to Fox's new series The Middle Man.

Affleck has reportedly signed on to produce the upcoming crime show and also direct the pilot episode. The Middle Man follows an FBI agent and his Irish-American Mob informant as they team up to take down the Italian-American Mafia.

The show will be written by Glenn Gordon Caron best known for his 1986 TV series Moonlighting, as well as the psychic detective drama, Medium.

Affleck is fast becoming one of Hollywood's most sought after names. The Academy award winner has come a long way since his days of cracking jokes with Kevin Smith. The 41-year-old's versatility has earned him much acclaim as PSIFF chairman Harold Matzner commented, when he honored Affleck in 2011:

"If there is truly a renaissance man in today's cinema, it's Ben Affleck. He has distinguished himself as a premier writer and director, as well as an actor with a broad-ranging and impressive filmography. In his latest work, The Town, Affleck once again puts his acting, writing and directorial skills to work, in a stinging portrait of a New England town and the grip it has on generation after generation, who find it impossible to leave. For his ability to "do it all" and constantly evolve as an artist, The Palm Springs International Film Festival is proud to present Ben Affleck with the 2011 Chairman's Award."

This will be Affleck’s TV directing debut.
