Troubled star Lindsay Lohan, who is infamous for her struggles with substance abuse, gets it from her momma. Drunk driving must run in the Lohan family, cause mother Dina was arrested last night. She was driving with a blood alcohol level that was double the legal limit.
New York state police reportedly pulled over the matriarch in Long Island last night for driving 77 mph in a 55 mph zone. She was subsequently giving a sobriety test, that she failed epicly. A blood alcohol test showed that Lohan was over twice the legal limit with an impressive .20.
The hammered mother was charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated. Dina was taken to the local station for processing and then released to a responsible third party. Lohan has to appear before a judge later in the month.
Dina Lohan has apparently taken on the mantle of family trouble maker in the wake of her daughter's seemingly sincere attempts to turn her life around after being released from rehab back in August.
Lindsay had her own well-publicized issues with substance abuse. The former Disney star was herself arrested for a string of D.U. I.s, starting back in 2007.
Lilo was court-ordered to undergo treatment earlier this year for a 2012 arrested.
The younger Lohan is seemingly on a roll since her recovery. Straight out of the gate she charmed audiences as guest host of Chelsea Handler's late night talk show, Chelsea Lately.
She also had a tell all sit-down interview with famed talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
In a recent interview with a gossip magazine, Dina credited Oprah Winfrey as an instrumental part of her daughter's recovery:
"I think it’s probably one of the best things that could have happened to her, honestly. If someone’s going to mentor, it better be Oprah.”
Maybe Winfrey should sit down with Dina next.
