Miley Cyrus Talks 2015 VMA's After No 2014 Host: ‘Wrecking Ball' Given Free Rein on Time Delay

Well, “la da di da di,” Miley Cyrus is hosting the MTV 2015 VMA’s tonight and the “Wrecking Ball” has been let off the chain. Or put on the chain, whichever metaphor is the most dangerous. Tonight, it really is Miley’s party and she can “do whatever she wants,” “say whatever she wants” “kiss whoever she wants,” and twerk on who she wants. After two years of not having a host, MTV has decided to let Miley host the party, and they have given her free rein to do whatever she want. However, Miley’s Carte blanche has only one small caveat. MTV is reportedly putting her on a brief time delay.

Miley Cyrus recently spoke to The New York Times about the rules that MTV set for her, or lack thereof:
“They said, ‘This is your party.”

That is only fitting according to Cyrus, “we run things, don’t run we.”

Cyrus went on to critics VMA’s of the past, bringing up the fact that there was no host for the past two years:

“I didn’t want this V.M.A.s to be like they’ve been in the past. Last year there wasn’t even a host, so there was no energy.”

Tonight’s show will be on a tap delay in order to give Miley room to run free. VMAs executive producers Van Toffler recently spoke to Billboard about choosing Miley as a host:

“She feels like the perfect host. She’s that that great marriage of music credibility, candor, she uses social media so well to express herself and she’s provocative and chaotic and unpredictable, everything we want for this show.”

What do you think about Miley Cyrus hosting the VMA’s? Do you think she will do a good job? Did you like the no host format of the past two years? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.

The 2015 VMA’s start tonight at 9:00 p.m. eastern, on MTV. If you are not watching live than you might want to set your DVR’s to run longer, because we are being told that the show, “can’t stop,” and that it “won’t stop.”
