Simon Cowell recently gave a new baby update when he was on Ellen. The X Factor judge opened up about Lauren Silverman and discussed how the entire situation left him feeling uncomfortable.
Simon Cowell opened up more than many expected him to when he appeared on Ellen Degeneres hit-morning show last Tuesday. While the press has had much to say about his new baby, Cowell has remained relatively tight lipped on the matters.
That all changed when Ellen asked him about the situation. Cowell was aware of the upcoming negative press but was excited about the prospect of becoming a new father, telling her:
“Oh my God, this is exciting, and it’s going to be a bit of a nightmare for the next few weeks. It was kind of uncomfortable. You know, the situation. But these things happen and everything is kind of calm now and I’m happy. I’m actually happier than I’ve ever been.”
Cowell has changed his tune a lot since the scandal broke in July. In case you’ve been living under a rock, tabloids began reporting that Simon got Lauren Silverman, the ex-wife of his best friend, pregnant.
The only problem is, Lauren was still married to her husband, Andrew Silverman, at the time of the announcement. The couple then engaged in a custody battle for their 7-year-old child, and the press couldn’t stop covering the story.
Simon did, however, take time to defend his baby-mama from all of the negative publicity, telling the talk show host:
“There was a lot of stuff said about her, that she trapped me and that she’s a gold digger. Absolute nonsense. She’s a great girl.”
