Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux surprised fans, and celebs, recently when they got secretly married. The clandestine wedding was especially shocking because it came on the heels of rumors that the couple were on the verge of a breakup. Rumors that she previously had an affair with former Friends co-star (Joey) Matt LeBlanc while married to Brad Pitt didn’t help things either. Now, Aniston is opening up about how she kept her wedding to the Zoolander 2 star a secret.
Recently, Jennifer Aniston appeared on Good Morning America where she opened up about how she was able to keep her wedding to Justin Theroux a secret (via USA Today):
“‘Where there is a will, there is a way,’ she told Good Morning America, adding that guests were told they were coming to Theroux’s birthday party, ‘and it was (a birthday party).’”
Radio host Howard Stern, who made a speech at the wedding, was one of the few celebrities who knew in advance that the event was more than just a birthday party, telling his millions and millions of listeners (via Us Weekly):
“It was always called a birthday party. Whenever you got an email, it was a birthday party. They're so secretive that they even had the wedding on a Wednesday because nobody gets married on a Wednesday...Everything is always top secret. You go with these two, there's photographers every minute. I'm sitting by a pool in Mexico and around where I sit is a sheet so photographers can't get a picture. So I've never actually seen Mexico. The view I have is a sheet every year...When you go on vacation with people and aren't allowed to leave the house, you really get to know people."
