Good news for Ariana Grande. The Sam and Cat star's new album skyrocketed to the top of the charts. Her new recording, Yours Truly, which features her hit single "The Way," has debuted at number 1. This comes after the young actress/singer opened up about her controversial kiss with Justin Bieber.
Ariana Grande is best known for her role on the hit Nickolden show Victorious and its spin off, iCarly cross over, Sam and Cat. Now the young starlet is making her mark on the world of music.
Grande's debut record Yours Truly released at number 1 on the Billboard 200. This is the first time a woman has debuted in the top spot since Ke$ha's 2010 album, Animal.
Yours Truly managed to beat out Tamar Braxton's Love & War and Nine Inch Nails long-awaited Hesitation Marks, selling over 138,000 copies. It appears that the 20-year-old, who got her start on Broadway at the age of 13, has a bright future ahead of her.
Grande also recently spoke with E! News about her controversial kiss with Justin Bieber, calling the whole thing "silly".
The controversy started when Grande, who was touring with Beibes, posted a picture of the pop star kissing her on the check.
Even though she claims the kiss pic was innocent, she admitted to M Magazine that her and Beibes do have a history of flirting:
“Justin’s the most famous contact I have in my phone. I felt so cool when he started texting me.I didn’t believe it was him at first. He wrote, ‘What’s up cutie?’ I dropped my phone and thought, ‘That did not just happen. I did a cover of ‘Die In Your Arms’ and Justin tweeted it and said he liked it and that meant the world to me.The fact that he did that means that he thinks I have some credibility as an artist. I’d love to work with him one day, I think he’s adorable and amazing."
