Things might not be going well for besties David Beckham and Gordon Ramsay. The two celebs seem to be at odds over how to manage their co-owned restaurant. The disputes have gotten so bad that David is retiring from the venture. His wife, Victoria Beckham, has remained silent on the issue.
It’s said that you shouldn’t do business with friends and that old cliche may prove true once more for old pals David and Gordon. Just a week before their joint venture was set to open, David pulled out of the arrangement.
This comes as a surprise to many, especially considering that David was photographed inspecting the grounds of the restaurant back in July. One person who may not be so shocked is Gordon Ramsay.
The two have been bickering for quite some time now. A source close to the celebrities revealed to the Scottish Daily Record:
“They may be best friends, but they are also very astute businessmen and both wanted different things. Becks was ready to make an investment and had visited the site. But they both talked long and hard and have decided not to work together on this occasion.”
Despite their differing views on business practices, Beckham is still a fan of the celebrity chef. He recently told the Mirror:
“In the grand scheme of his business ventures, this is small but it’s the one he’s most excited about. He’s a great cook and has learned how to do French and Italian over the years but his favourite is British. He loves a pie.”
