Is Blake Shelton Cheating on Country Music? Cher Chosen as 2013 'The Voice' Adviser

Superstar, Blake Shelton is the 'Voice' of Country Music. Shelton has proudly represented his genre for the past four season on the hit NBC singing competition. So it might come as a surprise, to some fans, to find out that Shelton is cheating on country music with Pop icon, Cher. The diva has been chosen as his adviser for the shows upcoming fifth season.

Shelton has come out on top as head coach of the hit NBC reality competition for the last three-years. In fact, the only season that he didn't, lead a contestant to victory, was the very first. Each year Shelton had a little help from his friends along the way.

Each celebrity coach has an adviser or advisers to help him/her during the season. The celebrity mentors, as they are also called, come in during the battle rounds and change from year to year. Up until now Shelton's advisers have all been country artist, with the exception of Michael Bublé. Buble who wrote and orginialy preformed. Shelton's hit song "home" was also joined by Country music record producer Scott Hendricks that season.

This year "Team Blake" is going to be mixing things up a little bit. Legendary diva Cher was chosen as Shelton's advisor.

This won't be Cher's first time on the Voice. She preformed her new song "Woman's World" for the season four finialy earlier this year.

Shelton's pairing with Cher might be more a sentimental decision. Earlier this year Blake spoke with TODAY.com about meeting the diva:

“I lost my dad a year and a half ago, and my dad's favorite artist on Earth, bar none, no question, was Cher. My dad worshiped Cher. I wish he could've seen tonight's episode because I would've been texting him saying, ‘I met Cher. I took a picture with her.' And I would've been giving him crap about it. That's what I love the most, is that I got a chance to meet Cher, She has no idea about any of that, but it was a real big deal to meet her. She's just as viable and important to music today as she ever was.”
