‘Bachelor’ News: Chris Harrison Slams Kaitlyn Bristowe Winner & Nick Viall?

Although he hasn't been shy about his interest in being cast as ABC's Season 20 Bachelor, franchise host, Chris Harrison just doesn't think that two-time Bachelorette runner-up, Nick Viall, has what it takes to carry the TV show. According to Harrison, who is also a producer on the series, neither Nick nor Kaitlyn Bristowe's 2015 winner, Shawn Booth, have that special something that every ABC Bachelor must have to be considered for the lead. Word has it that despite Nick's best hopes that Ben Higgins has already signed on to be the face of the franchise in 2016.

Almost from the moment he was dumped on the Bachelorette, yet again, Nick Viall has been putting the word out there that he would very much be interested in being cast as the Season 20 Bachelor, now that he's become an old pro on its spin-off.

The only problem, explains franchise host/producer, Chris Harrison, is that at least half of the Bachelor's audience is claiming online that if Viall is cast, they won't be tuning in next year.

Harrison told Reality TV World, that when it comes to picking the perfect Bachelor, it's important that they have a certain star quality that people just can't help but appreciate:

"The fact [Nick] had been on the show twice, yeah, he is polarizing, I don't think that he would necessarily [work out].

"If you look at our [Viall and Shawn Booth], I don't know if either one would really make a good Bachelor."

Harrison goes out of his way, however, to express that their not necessarily being right for the show doesn't mean they aren't good guys:

"People hear that and all of a sudden, there's this headline, like, 'Oh my God, he thinks Nick and Shawn are bad people' and we 'don't like them.' That's not the case. It doesn't make them bad people.

"It doesn't make them anything other than it takes a certain type of person, I think, to be the Bachelor."

According to the behind-the-scenes source that Us Weekly spoke to, Ben Higgins is all set to come on as the next Bachelor.

The informant claims that Ben even had to end his budding relationship with Season 14's Tenley Molzahn now that all the backroom deals have been made:

"They want to hook up but haven't.

"They're being careful not to jeopardize Ben H.'s Bachelor stint."

What do you think about Ben Higgins reportedly being cast as the next Bachelor?

Is anyone better than Nick?

Or, is Harrison completely wrong about Viall's not having the charisma to captivate the audience?
