It is no secret that Jennifer Garner’s career took a backseat to Ben Affleck's, while he went on to become a well respected member of the Hollywood elite. Well now that they are officially getting a divorce, the Daredevil actress is reportedly looking to win an Oscar of her own. However, Jen might not be able to catch up with Ben. When the Batman actor isn’t reportedly running off with Tom Brady and the nanny (Christine Ouzounian), he can be a bit of a workaholic himself.
An unnamed insider said to be close to Jennifer Garner recently spoke to Radar Online, telling the publication that Jen is more determined than ever to succeed:
“Jen’s facing a future on her own, but she refuses to let Ben win. She knows success is the best revenge on Ben and she dreams of trumping his Oscar win with one of her own one day...She’s even more determined to build up her image and her trip to visit the sick kids in the hospital recently is just the start...She also really wants to increase her circle of girlfriends and would love to follow in Angelina Jolie‘s footsteps with more philanthropic work.”
Radar Online also recently reported on how Ben is handling the breakup, along with some help from his agent Patrick Whitesell and, his super best friend, Matt Damon:
“Ben’s taking all the blame for the end of his marriage. He didn’t want her to leave, but he gave her no choice. He’s really in bad shape and Matt and Pat are urging him to get past this as quickly as possible and stay focused on the work ahead of him...He’s naturally a workaholic anyway, but he’s in a dark place now and only time and his friends can help pull him through.”
