Saturday Night Live alumni Tina Fey returns to 30 Rockefeller Center to open the premiere episode of the 2013 season of the long running sketch comdey show. Fey, a seasoned veteran best known for her spot on impression of Sarah Palin, seems like the perfect choice to help show the new cast members the ropes. If Fey can't break the newbies in, then human "wrecking ball" Miliey Cyrus just might do the trick. The teen star turned twerker pulls double duty, as both host and musical guest, the week after Fey.
Tina Fey knows her way around NBC studios. The writer/actress called 30 Rock her home for nearly ten years before turning that experience into her own hit sitcom.
Fey got her SNL start behind the camera as a writer before moving on to anchor "Weekend Update." Many fans are anxiously awaiting her return to the desk, however, even more are hoping to see Fey's famed impression of Sarah Palin.
Fey's experience is just what the show needs, especially when it comes to introducing several new cast members.
Over the past two years, there has been somewhat of a mass exodus among the major players--with Andy Samberg and Kristen Wiig leaving in 2012, followed by the departures of Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis and Fred Armirsen at the end of the last season. "Weekend Update" anchor and head writer Seth Myers is also leaving to replace Feys co-anchor, Jimmy Falon, as the new host of Late Night.
This will be Fey's third time hosting. Arcade Fire will be the musical guests.
Miliey Cyrus is set to return as host and musical guest the following week, in what is sure to be a ratings goldmine.
