Amanda Bynes Mental Illness Update: Health Treatment Costs Soar in 2013 at UCLA

Amanda Bynes’ severe mental illness is affecting the actress in more ways than one. The costs associated with her health treatment are staggering. In this latest update we will take a look at the costs of receiving celebrity care at the UCLA psychiatric center in 2013.

Amanda Bynes debilitating mental illness is costing her more than potential acting roles...it’s costing her a ton of cash. In a report issued last week, it was revealed that her stay is costing a staggering $3,500/day.

Bynes treatment, which has been court-ordered, will last for the next 60 days. While the goal is to rehabilitate the actress in the two-month time window, she could spend up to a year at the treatment center.

If she does spend 12 months at the facility, it would cost over a million dollars. TMZ helped break down that figure, considering the fee includes both treatment and lodging:

“The cost is so high because it covers not just treatment, but living expenses as well. To put this in perspective, you can get a deluxe executive suite at the Four Seasons Hotel in nearby Beverly Hills for $815 a night."

Amanda was moved to the UCLA clinic after her mother was granted temporary conservatorship. That decision was made by a judge after it became clear that Amanda was not capable of taking care of herself. At the end of the month, her mother’s conservatorship status could be extended.

Amanda’s court-ordered treatment came after the actress set fire to a neighbor’s driveway. What was most surprising about the incident was that Bynes did not know the woman who lived there.

In the process of lighting the blaze, Amanda soaked herself and her puppy in gasoline. After that, the court decided that she posed a significant risk to herself and others.
