Despite the sudden rush of stories that claimed Halle Berry was sure to divorce her husband, Olivier Martinez, after the Extant actress was spotted out and about without her wedding ring, it looks like Cat Woman may be happy at home after all. According to the latest gossip news dates, the Monster's Ball beauty is as happy as ever with the father of her son, Macao. The father of her daughter Nahla, Gabriel Aubry, is a different matter, however. Word has it the 48-year-old Hollywood icon thinks her unemployed ex-boyfriend is mooching of the $16K she's forces to pay in child support each month instead of getting himself a real job.
All it takes in this day in age to get the supermarket tabloids predicting a divorce is a married Hollywood celeb making a public appearance, even for a moment, sans wedding ring, and such was recently the case with Halle Berry.
After reported being seen without her ring last month, Radar Online started supposedly talking to an inside source that insisted the Halle's marriage to Olivier Martinez must not be long for this world:
"It seems Halle and Olivier have finally hit the end of the road.
"They've weathered a lot of ups and downs in their relationship - but recently, Olivier has been completely MIA!"
It seems that things might not be as dire as all that after all, however.
Shortly after the ringless sighting, TMZ explained that Halle had just lost the romantic token while in Mexico and had yet to replace.
One source in the latest August 25, issue of OK! Magazine claims that when the Hollywood hot couple heard the news, they couldn't help but think it was kind of funny:
"Halle and Olivier laugh at all the speculation they're going to divorce.
"They work hard on their marriage."
It would seem that it's Gabriel Aubry's seeming refusal to work on anything that has Halle so miffed at her ex-boyfriend.
Berry, who has been fighting to have her child support payments to the 38-year-old male model drastically reduced for years, reportedly claimed in court documents that it was wholly unfair to ask her to continue to financially support someone that was more than capable of making money for themselves (via Daily Mail):
"There is no case, no law [and] no logic that says a healthy, active man gets to simply live off child support that the wealthier mother earns."
What do you think about the tabloids making another mountain out of an easily explained molehill?
