Taylor Swift continues to blur the lines between country and pop music. The "22" singer, who is infamous for being linked to various celebrities such as John Mayer, Harry Styles and Joe Jonas, now has a date with yet another musician. That's right, Tay will be teaming up with American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez to record a song on J-lo's upcoming 2014 album.
The news of the collaboration, while exciting, isn't all that shocking. The two are known to be huge fans of each others work and have performed together recently. Lopez surprised audiences by helping Tay close out her Red tour on August 25.
Taylor addressing her fans from the stage that night, when she said:
"When I was a little girl, you know you have your favorite song that you just would play over and over and over again and just blast it in your room, and you’d sing in front of your mirror into a hair brush?"
Cueing up Lopez' hit song "Jenny from the Block" as the diva entered the stage:
Taylor later released footage from behind the scenes at the Staples Center after the show, where J-lo can be heard saying:
"Thank you so much for allowing our family to come and be a part of your family."
Later adding:
"Thank you, Taylor, for being so gracious and beautiful and loving me enough to have me be here tonight. I feel very blessed to be able to share the stage with you, and I just hope that everybody has the best show that they could ever have."
It looks like it's now Taylor's turn to return the favor. That shouldn't be a problem considering how much fun the pair had.
Taylor took to Twitter after the show, tweeting:
"Sang Jenny From the Block with @JLo tonight at Staples Center. STILL FANGIRLING OUT ABOUT IT,"
