The official Mega Millions lottery website is reporting on one the smaller scale prize winners:
“July 8, 2015 - We just met our newest Arkansas Mega Millions millionaire! The July 7 Mega Millions drawing did have a $3,000,000 winner from Arkansas, and she is Phyllis Roller from Beebe, Ark. Phyllis and her husband Arthur just claimed one of the largest lottery prizes in Arkansas history after matching five of the six numbers. She added the $1 Megaplier option that multiplied the standard $1 million Match 5 prize to $3 million!
“Phyllis bought her lucky winning Mega Millions ticket at the Doublebee’s location in her hometown of Beebe. She told us that she plans to give some of the prize to her church, share some with her family, and buy a few more cattle for her farm. The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery is thrilled to congratulate Phyllis, the newest Arkansas millionaire."
The Mega Millions website has a lot more pick 5 winners where that comes from as the site goes on to report:
“There were three Match 5 winning tickets sold for the Mega Millions drawing on August 4, matching the five white balls (2, 19, 44, 51 and 57), and just missing the gold Mega Ball of 14 for the jackpot. Two of those tickets, sold in Maryland and Wisconsin, are worth $1 million each. The third, sold in Florida, included the optional Megaplier (an extra $1 purchase) and when the 2x Megaplier was drawn, that ticket became worth $2 million.
“It is Florida’s fourth multi-million Match 5 winner this year alone, with an earlier winner of $2 million and two winners of $5 million, all thanks to the optional Megaplier purchase. A total of 12 Match 5 winners this year have included the Megaplier, more than in all of 2014.”
