Jack Nicholson Rumors: Retiring From Acting in Movies Over Memory Loss [UPDATE]

Rumors are flying that Jack Nicholson may be retiring from acting. According to reports, the legendary actor may be putting his movie career on hold, due to increased memory loss. In our latest update, we’ll help you sort the fact from the fiction.

Things are not going great for Jack Nicholson. The 76-year-old actor is rumored to be suffering from Alzheimers.

According to the latest edition of Star, a U.S. tabloid, Mr. Nicholson’s memory has gotten really bad. A friend of the elderly actor commented:

“Jack’s still a character and as crazy as ever, but his memory isn’t what it used to be--and he knows it. That’s why he decided to quietly stop making films. The last thing he wants is for people to make a big deal about the memory loss or, God forbid, try to organize a pitiful tribute. No one in Jack’s tight-knit camp is uttering the words ‘Alzheimer’s’ or ‘dementia.’”

Of course, not all of his friends share such an optimistic outlook. An insider told the gossip magazine that the Nicholson family may be living in denial:

“For Jack to stop working at all is a huge red flag to his friends, who are very afraid. They think he and his family are in denial. The truth is, the man is 76--and there are very serious concerns about Alzheimer’s.”

Reports published on Radar Online don’t sound much better for the actor. An insider told the gossip site that:

"There is a simple reason behind his decision – it's memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him. Jack has no intention of retiring from the limelight. He's not retiring from public life, at all. He just doesn't want a tribute. He's happy to tacitly join the retirees' club, like Sean Connery."
