Master of horror, John Carpenter, has no plans of slowing down just yet. Per a comment by the director on Facebook, there will be a "limited tour next year" that will support his latest Lost Themes as well as a second album to date.
Carpenter released Lost Themes in February to critical acclaim. The album features nine original tracks composed by Carpenter and his son, Cody, along with Daniel Davies.
While information is scarce, the "tour" seems to be a response to an earlier notion where the director told Consequence of Sound that he would be partial to performing "this stuff" live.
As for the album, the only details we have to go by are in the comments. According to Exclaim, there is only an implication that the sophomore album will drop in 2016.
For now, Carpenter has collaborated with French electronic artist Michel Jarre on a song called "A Question of Blood." The single will appear on Jarre's album E-Project, which is due out on Oct. 16 via Music Affair Entertainment Ltd./Sony Music.
The full song hasn't hit the Internet yet. However, despite the production's ambiguity, pieces of the composition can be heard via a YouTube player, along with several other clips by Carpenter and Jarre.
Fear not, Carpenter's future is far from bleak. While it may have been stated that the only thing missing on the album is "the movie" the accompany it, the enigmatic quality of the artist does not eclipse the talent that drips from his compositions.
While you await the impending tour, though, be sure to keep up with a small portion of "A Question for Blood" below.
