Celebrity FAIL of the week belongs to none other than Hoda Kotb. The co-host of ‘Today’ revealed her personal phone number to millions of people while she was demonstrating an iWatch-like device by Samsung. Embarrassingly enough, the incident followed Kathie Lee Gifford warning her not to reveal her number. Check out the entire incident in the video below.
Hosting a morning show may seem like a pretty easy gig, especially one that allows you to get drunk on the clock. Turns out that isn’t the case...at least not when you reveal your cell number to a ton of fans.
And that’s exactly what happened to Hoda Kotb on September 5. During a tech review piece that featured a samsung wristwatch that links to your phone, Hoda dialed the device from her own phone. When a close up of the device was taken, the number was projected for all to see.
Before Hoda even placed the call, Kathie warned her co-host about the risk of displaying sensitive info. A similar event happened to Kathie...or actually Kathie’s kid, Cassidy.
Cassidy called her mom during show hours and Kathie turned the phone so the audience could say “hi.” In the process, she revealed her daughters number to the world. As a result, she had to get a new phone number. “Cassidy never forgave me,” Gifford told Hoda.
Kathie also had the best line of the show, when she told Hoda, “Hoda, you have a lot of fans and a couple of prisoners."
Within minutes, she received over a thousand text messages.
