Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones Divorce Update: Putting Kids First in 2013

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones may be getting a divorce in 2013, but they plan on keeping their family together. Sources reveal that the celebrity couple will be putting their kids first, while undergoing what will surely be a high-profile split. We’ve got the latest update on the duo that’s calling it quits.

Michael Douglas, who is known for making some pretty confusing statements (like claiming that he caught throat cancer from engaging in oral sex with his wife), just made another befuddling remark. While accepting an award at Tuesday’s GQ Men of the Year ceremony, the 68-year-old actor said:

"I think the press has a crisis. We are fine. My wife and I are fine. We take a temporary separation - but the press, it gives you stuff to write about."

The reason this is somewhat confusing is because both he and his wife’s spokesperson released an official statement claiming that the couple was in need of a serious break to evaluate the future of their marriage.

A lot of speculation has been made about why the two are splitting, including claims that Michael has been unfaithful.

According to many sources, his alleged mistress looks a great deal like Catherine. The insider revealed to Star Magazine:

“At first. everyone thought the woman was Catherine, especially with all the attention Michael was lavishing on her. But it wasn’t. Michael and Catherine are living totally separate lives and are powering full steam ahead with the divorce. She was gorgeous--tall, with long, dark hair pulled back in a braided ponytail and a million dollar smile. Michael seemed to be putting the moves on this woman hard-core. He must be champing at the bit to play the field again.”

Regardless of the reason for their split, both actors have maintained that they will be putting their two children first.
