Although not quite getting along with your in-laws is a little cliché, the British royal family really isn't known for being at all welcoming to outsiders. According to the latest gossip news updates, Queen Elizabeth has a problem with Prince William's wife not wanting to be royal enough. Word has it that the surly matriarch is particularly upset that Princess Kate Middleton has decided to go with non-titled godparent for their baby daughter Charlotte, in addition to a general overall annoyance at what Her Majesty interprets as Kate dodging her royal duties.
While it's not like they were exactly renowned for welcoming Diana into the family, the Windsors are said to be having a terrible time adjusting to the Duchess of Cambridge.
One source in the July 27, issue of Life & Style claims that when Middleton chose non-titled godparents for baby Charlotte, a few of the eldest members of the family wanted to riot:
"It's a slap in the face.
"Queen Elizabeth ii, Phillip and Charles fear that William is just going along with what suits the Middletons."
According to the informant, the Queen is also deeply troubled that the Duchess seems more interested in taking it easy at Wimbledon, than keeping up with her all-important royal duties:
"She would never say this in public, but even Her Majesty described Kate as 'Duchess Do-Little' when she was tired on day.
"She comes from a different generation and has a sense of duty above all else."
Despite whether or not the Queen is satisfied with William's wife, the future king told People that he was impressed with how well Kate was taking to everything:
"Catherine has been doing an amazing job as a mother and I'm very proud of her."
Even though she pretends to always be perfectly prim and proper herself, a member of Her Majesty's secret service explained in the latest August 3, issue of Star magazine that when it comes to chowing down at McDonalds the revered old lady is not better than the rest of us.
The guard told the magazine that at least once every few weeks, they have to take the Queen down to the golden arches to grab a Big Mac, apple pie and a strawberry milkshake:
"Then she does what we all do: eats it in the car.
"We drive around for about 20 minutes so she can finish before we return to the palace."
What do you think about Kate Middleton?
Is she the epitome of what a real Princess should be?
Or, is the Queen right to want to send her to finishing school before releasing her on the aristocracy?
