It isn't unlike hip-hop to blend seamlessly with an orchestra. Thus, Atlanta's Migos (featuring only Quavo and Takeoff) joined a nine-piece classical orchestra for a special "trap symphony" commission by Audiomack. The piece: Hannah Montana.
Premiering exclusively at Fader, the song comes as part of three-song suite that will be released soon. While the orchestra may not have been familiar with them, the performance went on without a hitch.
The third member of the group, Offset, is currently on hiatus from the group pending his arrest in April for felony drug poession. However, this didn't slow down the performance, and they even exalted that the classical remix wasn't too much of a difference from the original score.
Migos commented in the article:
"This was a dope concept... We been influenced by all different types of music. People think of Migos and think of one type of music, but we gonna do it all."
Also, while the backing band may not have been too familiar with the cast of all-stars fronting the concert, this proved to be a successful arrangement that proves the sync qualities between classical and most popular and contemporary music are vast.
Migos will release their debut album, Yung Rich Nation, nation next week, July 31. Be sure to get a copy of the album and be sure to purchase tickets for the release show at New York's Highline Ballroom here.
For now, the Atlanta veterans have premiered the video, which we will provide below, and it is has a certain resonance that's central to the group's distinct sonic quality.
Without further ado, here is Hannah Montana below.
