‘Transformers 5’ Mark Wahlberg & Michael Bay Return Confirmed: Shia LaBeouf Blasts Director

Transformers 5 is arguably one of the most highly anticipated films of 2017. It has now been confirmed that Transformer 4 star Mark Wahlberg and franchise director Michael Bay will both be returning to the hit blockbuster film series. However, don’t expect Shia LaBeouf to come back to the franchise. LaBeouf recently blasted both Michael Bay and Bumblebee.

Recently, Mark Wahlberg spoke with Collider, where he talked about his return to Transformers 5, teasing Michael Bay’s return to the project:

“I don’t. Just that Akiva [Goldsman] and those guys are starting to write and break stories, and stuff like that. But [Michael] Bay is in Malta shooting Benghazi, and I’m in New Orleans shooting Deepwater. We’ll get together when he gets back.”

Movie Pilot is now reporting that Michael Bay’s return to the series has been confirmed.

Earlier in the year, Shia LaBeouf had a few less than glowing things to say about Bumblebee and a dirctor that we can only assume to be Michael Bay telling reporters at the Tribeca Film Festival (via Entertainment Weekly):

“Bumblebee never sounds real. It’s just a f***ing name/ When you work with certain directors who give over and do something that’s presentational and you both believe it, then there is no f***ing around, and you really are in this alternate universe.”
