Rumors were flying earlier in the week that Kris Jenner’s new talk show, Kris, has been canceled. Turns out the claims that Kim Kardashian’s mom was fired by Fox is totally not true, as the network released an update.
Kris Jenner has not been having a great six weeks. Reports that the Kardashians’ momager and her husband, Bruce Jenner, are divorcing have dominated nearly every tabloid cover.
It appears to have gotten so bad that the couple has, in effect, separated. Bruce is living in a rental unit in Malibu, while Kris hangs tight at the Kardashian’s Calabasas crib.
Things got worse this week when Radar Online ran a story claiming that Kris’ new show, Kris, was going to be canceled. A source allegedly close to the situation claimed:
“There is no chance the talk show is going to get a green light from FOX. The ratings were averaging an abysmal 0.8 and advertisers were less than enthusiastic about it. Kris did get a ratings bump for her last show when Kanye West revealed the first baby pic of daughter, North West, with Kim, but that was a one time shot in the arm and it wouldn’t be indicative of what the ratings trend would be.”
The source went on to claim that:
"It is a very crowded market and Kris didn't do anything to set herself apart from the field. Believe it or not, most of America doesn't want to hear about the Kardashians for an hour every day."
Kris did get a bit of good news yesterday, however, when Fox took her side, saying the “rumors are false,” according to the NY Daily News. Kris, too, claimed she had not been canceled. She took to Twitter, claiming, "Rumors flying are false but glad everyone is still buzzing about our 6 week summer run!!!!"
