Jon and Kate Gosselin can’t stop fighting, even after their highly publicized divorce. In this latest update, Kate is suing her ex-husband for hacking into her private accounts to gain information for a tell-all book. Kate rejects claims that the book made, including that she abused the children with a wooden spoon.
On Monday, Kate’s attorneys filed a suit at the U.S. District Court in Pennsylvania. The 18-page legal document asserts that Jon conspired with a reporter to hack and access Mrs. Gosselin’s cell phone, personal computer and bank accounts.
The information gathered from that process, her legal team claims, was used by Robert Hoffman (Jon’s BFF) to write a scandalous tell-all book called Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World.
In the book, Hoffman makes some pretty radical claims. The most damaging of which assert that Mrs. Gosselin would beat the children daily with a weapon.
In an interview with Star Magazine, Hoffman claimed that:
“She uses that ‘Spanker’ on a daily basis for anything and everything, The spanking entries are endless.”
New York Daily News is reporting that:
“After the couple was separated, Jon illegally hacked into Kate’s email account and her phone and bank accounts. Jon also stole a hard drive from Kate’s house, which contained private and confidential material. Jon the gave them the contents of Kate’s email account and the hard drive, all of which were acquired illegality, to his friend and business partner, tabloid reporter Robert Hoffman.”
The lawsuit doesn’t leave out Robert Hoffman either, as it alleges:
“Mr. Hoffman publicly described his ongoing friendship with Jon Gosselin and even bragged he was in possession of 5,000 family photos, personal documents, tax and business records plus contracts - on information and belief, they were acquired from Jon Gosselin, and were acquired with the knowledge that Jon obtained them illegally.”
