Gia Allemand Suicide Update: Last Tweet and Death Shocks Co-Workers, The Bachelor Cast and Boyfriend Ryan Anderson

The tragic suicide of Gia Allemand took many by surprise. Co-workers, The Bachelor cast and her NBA boyfriend, Ryan Anderson, speak up about her shocking death and the last tweet she sent.

Gia Allemand, who was perhaps best known for being a contestant on the hit show The Bachelor, attempted to kill herself on August 12. She was found hanging in her home and rushed to the hospital. Two days later, her family decided to take the former model off of life support.

Jennifer Thomas, a friend and owner of Pure Barre where Gia was an instructor couldn’t believe the untimely passing. She gave an exclusive to OK! Magazine, where she claimed that:

“I didn’t know that she was depressed. I was totally shocked that she made that decision. None of us know that she was feeling that low. Gia was very loving, outgoing, and she always seemed like a happy person.”

Mrs. Thomas did, however, claim that Gia was having trouble with her basketball playing husband. However, she in no way blames the young man for the depression that lead to Gia’s death, telling OK!:

“She talked to me many times about relationship issues with Ryan, but it didn’t seem like more than just a girlfriend venting. She was concerned about her relationship. Ryan will have a very hard time getting over her death. They were really trying to work it out.”

While her death struck many by surprise, her last tweet may have offered some insight into her decision. On Sunday, the 29-year-old model tweeted Proverbs 21:3, which reads:

“Doing what is right and fair pleases The Lord more than an offering.”

We wish her family, friends and boyfriend peace in their time of need.
