Time for another Amanda Bynes mental health update for 2013. Last week, rumors emerged that the troubled actress’ mental illness was improving. Of course, this fact was overshadowed by sources claiming that Bynes was bisexual.
According to Perez Hilton, Bynes is openly bisexual to her close friends. In fact, the gossip site alleges that Bynes was dating a girl that lived in her New York apartment building. This is the same apartment building where Bynes got in trouble for throwing a bong out of the window.
The gossip site claims a source revealed that:
“She didn’t really hide it or keep it a secret with those that were close to her, which wasn’t really a lot of people. But she was sexually and romantically involved with a close female friend of hers. And a couple times she even had more than one woman in bed with her. She worried that her parents would be upset about it and it’s not a label she wanted publicly. But I don’t really even know if Amanda is sure of her sexuality. I think she was just a little lost and yearning for love and attention anywhere she could get it.”
Bynes sexuality should be the least of her parent’s concern, however. Bynes increasingly erratic behaviour has left many people worried that the actress may suffer from serious mental illness. In fact, the former child star is currently undergoing a mandatory psychiatric evaluation.
Her court ordered treatment stems from a July incident where Bynes set a fire in a total stranger’s driveway. In the process, the actress managed to douse her pants and dog in gasoline. She was later caught on a convenient store’s security cameras, pantless, washing her dog.
Initially, a judge only ordered Bynes to a 72-hour hold. But after compelling arguments from both Bynes’ parents and doctors, the judge extended the hold into September. Additionally, the magistrate granted conservatorship to Bynes’ parents.
Since the order, Bynes has been transferred to UCLA Medical Centre, a hospital that specializes in mental illness. In fact, it’s the facility that Britney Spears credits with getting her back on the straight and narrow.
Reports have since circulated that claim Bynes’ health is improving at the Los Angeles treatment facility.
