Rumors that Miley Cyrus and fiance Liam Hemsworth are going to break up continue to dominate the tabloids. It didn’t help matters when Cyrus noticeably walked the red carpet alone at the VMAs. Is this just tabloid fodder or have they canceled plans for an upcoming wedding?
This isn’t the first time that Liam has stood up Miley on the red carpet. In fact, the pair walked solo at events for over a year, until August 8 when they were spotted arm-in-arm at the premiere of Paranoia.
Many media outlets are claiming that LIam doesn’t feel as passionately about supporting Miley as the “We Can’t Stop” singer feels about him. If Miley is being honored or is up for an award, Liam is nowhere to be found. But...when it comes to Liam’s new movie opening...Cyrus is right there for him.
Sources believe that the August 8 red carpet walk was just for show and “that they are as dysfunctional as ever.” A source reveals to OK! Magazine:
“Liam and Miley hardly spoke to each other at the premiere. She’s threatened to trash him all over Hollywood if he dumps her.”
The source goes on to claim that Cyrus intentionally flirted with Harry Styles at the August 11 Teen Choice Awards. Allegedly, “It was all just a ploy to get Liam sick with jealousy.”
These certainly aren’t the first allegations that the couple is having some trouble. Months ago, Hollywood Life caught up with a source who revealed that Liam will leave Miley for extended periods of time and turn off his phone where she cannot reach him. According to the source:
"That’s so hard on her. It really, really upsets her when she can’t reach Liam, she wonders where he’s at and who he’s with. It’s torture for her and it’s her mom and dad that are left dealing with it.”
