Despite releasing a highly successful Greatest Hits album just last Christmas, it looks like American Idol's most popular recording artist, Carrie Underwood is just about finished with a brand new album of hits. According to the latest gossip news updates, Mike Fisher's wife insists that she is very close to completing what she's jokingly referred to as "the most amazing album ever." In a related story, it has also been confirmed that the new mom will once again be the face of the NFL's Sunday Night Football for the third year running.
For those Carrie Underwood fans that weren't quite satisfied with the Greatest Hits album only having one original single, "Something in the Water," there is very good news.
The Country Music Awards habitual co-host explained in a recent phone interview with WMZQ-FM/Washington, D.C. that she was on the verge of having her latest album all wrapped up (via CMT):
"We are definitely getting close,"
"I can't stamp any final date on it right now, but as it stands, I have a couple more songs to go in and figure out. And then I think we'll be done.
"I don't want to ever say, 'No, we're done,' and then some amazing song comes through."
According to Underwood this latest effort shouldn't alienate any of her die-hard fans, but it definitely going to be different than anything she's ever made in the past:
"Overall, it's kind of twangy in a different way.
"It's hard to describe. The people that like me will be like, 'Oh, this sounds like Carrie.'
"But it's definitely a new chapter."
Luckily for her fans that aren't all that appreciative of change, they will still be able to catch the same ole Carrie Underwood singing the same song she always does before the big game every Sunday night once Football season gets started.
In lieu of some over the top announcement, both the NFL and Underwood chose to make the announcement that she'd be coming back for a third season on Twitter.
If she can channel the same mojo she did for "Something in the Water," no doubt every song on Carrie Underwood's new album will be a No. 1 hit.
