There may be some good news to report in the latest Amanda Bynes mental illness update. The health of the bipolar and schizophrenic actress seems to have improved since her transfer to UCLA.
Bynes is still classified as “gravely disabled as a result of her mental illness,” according to the doctors who were treating her at Hillmont Psychiatric Centre. However, inside sources are reporting that the actress’ condition is improving as she continues to take her “cocktail’’ of anti-psychotic drugs.
Last Thursday, the troubled actress was spotted leaving Hillmont Psychiatric Centre, hidden by a sheet and wearing a giant blue wig. The actress was heading for UCLA Medical Center.
UCLA, we’re told, is better suited to treat instances of schizophrenia. The starlet would have transferred sooner, however, the institute was at maximum capacity and Bynes had to wait until a room became available.
UCLA has a prestigious mental illness program. In fact, it is the same facility that Britney Spears credits as saving her life.
Bynes treatment, however, is court ordered. The decree stems from an incident in July where Amanda started a fire in a stranger’s driveway.
During the process, she covered herself and her dog in massive amounts of gasoline. The star was caught on camera running into a gas station and washing her pup. The actress was not wearing pants at the time.
This crazy stunt only got the 27-year-old actress a mandatory 72-hour hold, however, her continued erratic behavior earned her additional time. Also, her mother was granted temporary conservatorship over the child star.
We at Classicalite wish Amanda Bynes a speedy recovery, and our thoughts go out to her family in this troubling time.
