Disney and Rizzoli and Isles Suicide Confirmed, Found Dead on Monday [UPDATE]

Former Disney star Lee Thompson Young was found dead on Monday. TNT responds to the Rizzoli & Isles actor's passing, while his manager confirms reports that suicide is the cause of death.

Police found Lee Thompson Young dead at his home on Monday after the actor didn't show up to set. The 29-year-olds agent has confirmed that Young took his own life.

Young starred as Detective Barry Frost in the TNT crime drama Rizzoli and Isles.

TNT released a statement:

"We are beyond heartbroken at the loss of this sweet, gentle, good-hearted, intelligent man. He was truly a member of our family. Lee will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and offscreen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace. We send our deepest condolences and thoughts to his family, to his friends and, most especially, to his beloved mother."

Rizzoli and Isles show runner Janet Tamaro took to twitter on behalf of the show, tweeting:

"We are all without the words to truly express our collective grief and profound sadness at the loss of such a sweet, bright light."

Lee, got his big break playing the starring role in the 1998 Disney Channel show The Famous Jet Jackson.

The Disney Channel also released a statement:

"Nothing any of us can say will adequately express our sadness over Lee's untimely passing--our thoughts are with his loved ones and the many fans of his work."

During his short career, Lee also had numerous supporting roles including playing an intern in the NBC/ABC hit-comedy Scrubs and superhero Vic Stone/Cyborg on Smallville. Young is also known for his role as Chris Comer in the 2004 football film Friday Night Lights.
