Spider-Gwen Emma Stone Talks Turning Down ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot After Bill Murray Casting Suggestion

Emma Stone is one of the most sought out young actress in Hollywood today. The Amazing Spider-Man Gwen Stacy (Spider-Gwen) actress was highly rumored to be cast in Paul Feig’s new all-female Ghostbusters reboot. However, despite Bill Murray’s suggestion that she be in the new film, Stone turned down the role. Now, Stone is opening up about why she didn’t sign up for the upcoming blockbuster. Meanwhile new photos of Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy have leaked online.

Recently, Emma Stone spoke to the Wall Street Journal about why she decided to turn down the new Ghostbusters movie:

"The script was really funny. It just didn't feel like the right time for me. A franchise is a big commitment--it's a whole thing. I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water."

Early on original Ghostbuster Bill Murray included Emma Stone in casting wish list, telling The Toronto Star:

“Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny --God, she’s funny! I like this girl Linda Cardellini (Mad Men) a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”

Do you think that Emma Stone made the right move? Would she had made a good Ghostbuster? What do you think of BIll Murray’s dream casting list? How about the girls who actually made it the list? Let us know your thoughts on the new film in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
