It’s been a big week for Duck Dynasty. Not only did the cast shatter cable records, but they also delivered an amazing TV interview. In it, they discussed Jase Robertson being kicked out of a New York hotel, Willie’s potential run for congress and their upcoming Christmas album. Watch the interview yourself, below.
Not even the Robertson family could have predicted the enormous success of the Season 4 premiere of Duck Dynasty. The hour-long program brought in a staggering 12 million viewers.
That marks the single most-watched non-fiction series in cable TV history.
Needless to say, A&E is overjoyed with the success of the program. David McKillop, General Manager and Executive Vice President of A&E, released the following statement:
“Thanks to its authentic and engaging characters Duck Dynasty has become more than just a reality show, it is a cultural phenomenon. We would like to thank the Robertsons for their incredible partnership. We are all Happy, Happy, Happy.”
The Robertson family recorded an interview on Live With Kelly and Michael before the ratings were announced, and the studio audience loved the Louisiana family.
They opened the segment with Jase Robertson claiming that he had been kicked out of a swanky NY hotel for what he referred to as “facial profiling.” He told the hosts:
"I asked where the bathroom was and he said, 'Right this way, sir.' He was very nice. He walked me outside, pointed down the road and said, 'Good luck.'"
Robertson recognized the humor of the situation and was in good spirits, laughing off the ordeal.
It was also revealed that the cast is releasing an album of Christmas songs. The title?
