Usher's son has been released from the hospital after the five-year-old nearly died last Monday. A judge dismissed Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster's emergency custody claim, leaving the boy in his father's care.
Usher's son Usher Raymond V is out of the hospital and doing well. The entertainer told People magazine:
"Doctors were taking every precaution to make sure Cinco was okay, but the danger looks like it has passed. "
The almost fatal accident occurred last Monday after the boy, who was swimming in a pool, dove underwater to retrieve a toy lodged in the pools drain. Little Raymond V's arm then got caught in the drain.
Raymond V's aunt, who was in the pool at time, tried unsuccessfully to free the child's arm. A maid then jumped into the pool and attempted to rescue Raymond V to no avail.
The boy was finally freed after two workmen, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews, came from inside the house and managed to save him.
Usher, who wasn't home at the time, reportedly arrived as his namesake was undergoing life saving CPR. The singer rode alongside his son in the ambulance to an Atlanta hospital.
Following the accident, Usher's ex wife Tameka Foster filed for an emergency custody hearing of their two children. Foster claimed that The Voice coaches busy schedule made him an absentee father.
The hearing, held on Friday, lasted hours, but ultimately the judge decided to dismiss the case. The pair are due to resume the issue latter this month as a hearing was already planned for August 27th.
