Adele, the legendary “Rolling In The Deep” singer, may be placing her new songs on hold. The vocalist is pursuing her shot at a big acting career, set to star in the film The Secret Service.
Reports are circulating that the Grammy-winning actress will be playing a villain in the upcoming film. The flick will be based on a graphic novel that was written by Mark Miller. Miller is probably best known for his Kick Ass series.
The movie is bringing in a ton of big names, including Matthew Vaughn. Vaughn famously directed the film Layer Cake and is looking to rekindle the magic in The Secret Service. A source close to the doctor commented to The Sun:
"Adele is exactly what Matthew is looking for. He wants the highest-profile names in various fields to boost the film's cause and turn it into a mega-money franchise."
Adele could be bankable, too. She has, after all, already won an Oscar. Of course, this wasn’t for her acting...but for her music.
Her song, “Skyfall,” which was featured in the latest Bond film, earned her the award.
If the reports are accurate and she has been selected for the role, then she will be starring beside some acting heavyweights. Colin Firth and Samuel Jackson have already been selected to appear in the thriller.
What do you think? Will Adele make a good addition to an already stellar cast? Is this just an effort to increase publicity surrounding the film? Let us know in the comment field below.
