Snoop Dogg Calls Transgender Caitlyn Jenner “Science Experiments” with New Akon Meme After Drake Bell Backlash

Caitlyn Jenner, as well all transgender people, wouldn’t be considered brave if their was no blowback for being who they are. Where an overwhelming number of the public have been in full support of this inspiring women, some still manage to hold on to their bigotry. Earlier in the week, former Drake and Josh star and current Ultimate Spider-Man voice actor, Drake Bell tweeted that he was still going to call Caitlyn “Bruce.” Now, Snoop Dogg has taken it one step further by sharing a meme (featuring Akon) that referrers to “Bruce” as a “science project,” and blasting the media for not focusing on “real news.”

Snoop isn’t the only person upset that Caitlyn is getting so much media attention, over someone who they feel is more deserving. Caitlyn was recently named as the recipient of this year’s ESPY’s Arthur Ashe Courage Award, which many felt should have went to Lauren Hill. Hill was a Mount St. Joseph basketball player, who recently ended her battle with cancer.

In her short time on Earth, Hill helped to raise millions for cancer research. Hill also gained the support of basketball legend, Lebron James. After learning of her death, James issued a touching response, in a series of tweets that read:

“Dear Lauren Hill,
You are the true definition of strength, courage, power, leadership, etc etc! Your time spent on earth will never be forgotten. I have that I never got the chance to meet u in person but know you inspired me the whole time! For every life u touched, u made the biggest impact of them by just being YOU!! You're in a far better place now and please don't have to much fun up there w/o all your family and friends. Can u please tell my Grandma I said hello. Don't be afraid, she knows you cause we spoke about u plenty of times Until we officially meet again, take care and continue to be that LEADER we all love! #RIPLaurenHill.”

In a press release, ESPY executive producer Maura Mandt stated the reasons behind honoring Caitlyn with the award:

“Bruce has received many accolades over the years for being one of the greatest Olympians of our time but The ESPYS are honored to celebrate Bruce becoming Caitlyn. She has shown the courage to embrace a truth that had been hidden for years, and to embark on a journey that may not only give comfort to those facing similar circumstances, but can also help to educate people on the challenges that the transgender community faces.”
