Amanda Bynes parents’ petition for conservatorship has been granted. A judge awarded control of the out of control actress to the couple on a temporary basis. However, Bynes remains hospitalized and is under the care of mental health professionals.
California court judge, Glen Reiser, granted Amanda Bynes parents conservatorship over the troubled 27-year-old. Bynes is currently undergoing extended involuntary psychiatric treatment for severe mental illness.
Lynn and Richard Bynes sought the conservatorship because of their daughter's increasingly dangerous behavior which lead to her hospitalization, after she set a fire in a stranger's driveway last month.
Judge Reiser's ruling allows Lynn Bynes limited control over her daughter's well being until September 30. Reiser will then decided whether or not to extend the temporary order full time.
Before he makes his decision, the judge first wishes to meet personally with Amanda, whose treatment kept her out of the court on Friday.
Decisions regarding Amanda's medical care will remain in the hands of a mental health court for the duration of her current stay If she is released then, her mother will placed in charge of her treatment.
Lynn Bynes will also hold control over Amanda's finances. TMZ reports that the starlet's $4 million in savings was fast fading before her hospitalization. Reiser also warned Mama Bynes to clear any major expenditures with Amanda's attorney.
