EXO is in a state of flux. The situation changes from minute to minute. The band is fine one day and off the next. There were fewer ups and downs when The Beatles broke up! Needless to say, speculation has been rampant about the state of the band for quite some time. What is for sure is that Tao is not happy, and that is something that is presently trying to be addressed.
"It cannot be confirmed whether Tao is staying or leaving. Negotiations are still ongoing," said the SM Entertainment Representative.
EXO is about to go on a promotional tour for their Exodus repackaged album Love Me Right, which will include four new songs in addition to the original tracks from Exodus. SM Entertainment thought it important to take the opportunity to address the Tao situation. The SM Rep. confirmed, as well, that Tao would not be joining the tour to support the album which will be released on June 3rd
Tao's future became in doubt after he returned to his homeland of China due to an ankle injury. Tao's father wrote a letter making his displeasure with SM Entertainment known. The record company's lack of care for their artists has been well documented. Tao, for his part, has neither confirmed nor denied whether he wants to leave or not. He has been focused on simpler, non-EXO events. He is next set to appear at an event for his endorsement of the mobile video game Chao Shen Zhan Dui in China.
As for EXO's future, the remaining members have banded together and, though they may be losing members, they remain a committed group.
Let us know what you think. Are you worried about EXO's future? Is the media making too much of Tao's impending departure? After all, there are still nine other members of the group. Let us know your thoughts.
